High Above was founded in 2012 by JC Canfield after he developed his chops working at Mystery Ranch. With an uncompromising commitment to quality and durability, JC has been designing and building packs for two decades and leads Product Development and Production. 

In 2024, JC was joined by Kyle Thackray and Spencer Kadas, two lifelong mountain bikers (and friends) and longtime fans of the brand. Kyle brings a decade of experience managing softgoods products for Cascade Designs, and Spencer worked in tech startups for a decade. JC has reluctantly let both of them begin touching the sewing machines.
