For nearly a decade, the Lookout has been the most popular pack High Above offers. Adaptable yet simple, the Lookout fits perfectly and offers a combination of fit that disappears behind you when worn with enough room to carry everything you need for a day on the trails. 
The Lookout is built to last with waterproof materials, invincible construction and smart, simple details.

Item Details

  • Size: 9" x 5.5" x 3.5” (~2.7L Capacity)
  • Materials: Heavy Duty X-Pac body fabric, YKK #8 Aquaguard zippers for ultimate weatherproofness and durability.
  • Storage: Three interior pockets plus an additional weather resistant external zippered pocket keep things organized, and a key lanyard makes sure car keys don’t wander away.
  • ETC Straps - removable but included straps allow bulky items like jackets or pads to be attached to the top of the pack, away from rear wheel spray.
  • Made in Cascadia, USA by hands that care.

Waistbelt Buckle Options:

  • Standard - our standard issue Acetal buckle, simple and easy to use
  • Fidlock - the upgraded Fidlock buckle uses magnets to provide easy on/off and a strong hold
  • Cobra - the ultimate buckle upgrade, this all-metal military spec buckle will outlast you (and your children).

Bottle Options:

  • Bottle Rocket - our classic removable Bottle Rocket, which can hold a small water bottle (22 oz), your favorite canned beverage, or anything else you feel like stowing in there. We do not recommend putting full Large 26oz bottles in the Bottle Rocket, simply because that amount of weight will cause the pack to feel unbalanced and wobbly.
  • Quickdraw - the upgraded Quickdraw bottle system by Fidlock is a super quick and easy magnetic attachment that can be grabbed and stowed with one hand while riding. Includes 15 oz / 450 mL Fidlock bottle (NOT dishwasher safe).

Note: Whether you choose the standard Bottle Rocket or Quickdraw option, an additional Bottle Rocket (sold separately) can always be installed on the other wing.

Due to the construction of the wing, Quickdraw system cannot be retrofitted to existing packs, sorry!

You hear about the quality.

Many good options for hip pack for less but this is quality that you know will last a lifetime. GREAT build quality, good tech(I went Fidlock) comfortable. The only thing that will be hard about this purchase is listening to me kids make fun of me for having a "fanny pack".

If you are on the fence just do it you won't regret you did.

This is my second High Above pack the first one was destroyed by a hungry rat which prompted the purchase of this new one. It is the best pack that I’ve used, very comfortable and just the right amount of space. Have recommend to friends. Great job!

Yes, you can get at hip pack for cheaper but High Above delivers a quality product that you’d expect from this price point.

quality is insanely good, have had mine for 2 years now and it's still really good and has zero damage to it despite use 4 days a week

Everything you need, nothing you don't

I don't want to describe this bag as 'minimal' because it has all the right features, and is nicely modular. But I keep coming back to how simple and easy it is to use this pack, hence my mental model of minimal. This bag is ideal for 2-3 hour rides that you do during the week and with your buds on the weekend. The capacity of the pack will meet ~90% of rider's packing needs. You can attach your helmet or a jacket once you figure out how to run the cords through, and either will sit nicely against your back while you grind out the climb. Summed up, this is a dialed pack that can fit many different use-cases for your 2-3 hour rides.
