For nearly a decade, the Lookout has been the most popular pack High Above offers. Adaptable yet simple, the Lookout fits perfectly and offers a combination of fit that disappears behind you when worn with enough room to carry your gear for a day on the trails. 

The Lookout is built to last with waterproof materials, invincible construction and smart, simple details. 

ETC Straps come standard and give you the option to carry bulkier items like a jacket rolled into its own hood tidily, knee pads or anything else that you can cinch down. They're easy to use and a great addition to give you a little more space when you need to shed a layer.

Buckle Options:

Standard - our standard issue Acetal buckle, simple and easy to use

Fidlock - the upgraded Fidlock buckle uses magnets to provide easy on/off and a strong hold

Cobra - the ultimate buckle upgrade, this all-metal military spec buckle will outlast you (and your children).

Bottle Options:

Bottle Rocket - our classic removable Bottle Rocket, which can hold a small water bottle (22 oz), your favorite canned beverage, or anything else you feel like stowing in there. We do not recommend putting full Large 26oz bottles in the Bottle Rocket, simply because that amount of weight will cause the pack to feel unbalanced and wobbly. Bottle not included.

Quickdraw - the upgraded Quickdraw bottle system by Fidlock is a super quick and easy magnetic attachment that can be grabbed and stowed with one hand while riding. Includes 15 oz / 450 mL Fidlock bottle (NOT dishwasher safe).

Note: Whether you choose the standard Bottle Rocket or Quickdraw, an additional Bottle Rocket (sold separately) can always be installed on the other wing.

Due to the construction of the wing, Quickdraw system cannot be retrofitted to existing packs, sorry!

Everything you need, nothing you don't

I don't want to describe this bag as 'minimal' because it has all the right features, and is nicely modular. But I keep coming back to how simple and easy it is to use this pack, hence my mental model of minimal. This bag is ideal for 2-3 hour rides that you do during the week and with your buds on the weekend. The capacity of the pack will meet ~90% of rider's packing needs. You can attach your helmet or a jacket once you figure out how to run the cords through, and either will sit nicely against your back while you grind out the climb. Summed up, this is a dialed pack that can fit many different use-cases for your 2-3 hour rides.

Excellent Pack

I've had this pack for 5 years now and have nothing but positive things to say. Its been durable, it keeps my stuff dry, and can hold two water bottles. What more could I want from a hip pack

Disappointed

Despite the marketing, this hip pack did not help me become an astronaut. It's definitely too small for oxygen tanks and geological samples. It seems almost like it was designed for recreation. The size is about right for a spare jacket, snacks and gloves. The construction, while outstanding by terrestrial standards, doesn't seem like it would hold up if strapped to the outside of a rocket. I've been using it for mountain biking while I wait for NASA to return my calls.

Superb pack, almost like im cool now

Great pack with all the little bits you need. Plenty of storage, but not too much. With in frame storage having the hippack and another bottle on you is all I really need now.
The cobra buckle is little ‘big’ and felt like it would be annoying when I first got it. Hasnt been a problem at all. I think next time I would do standard or fidlock though.

A superb pack for adventures of all kinds

I lucked out and was able to purchase one of the ultra special Dyneema Lookouts a while back. It's white, light and ready to fight.

I especially love how it stands up to the abuse of cycling, hiking, XC skiing and even a tourist venture around Bangkok. I love this bag.

But what's even more special is knowing that I'm supporting a small operation just across the border in Washington. (Don't hate me because I'm in Oregon.)

Thanks for making such a cool, special product!
